Bradley had his first piano recital

Bradley's Piano Recital from Brittan on Vimeo.

He's been taking lessons since October and this was his first time performing pieces that he memorized. He can read (more complicated) music really well and is writing songs. I think it's so cool that he has found something he can get excited about. He LOVES music and talks about it/sings/plays constantly.

Happy National Hamburger Day, Jaren!

Vintage Bradley

(3 years old)

I bake!

Sort of. I found this recipe, procrastinated for weeks, got really bored one day and finally decided to make a from-scratch version of Samoas--my favorite Girl Scout cookie. They ended up three times bigger and kind of melty (the recipe says chocolate chips are okay but I recommend a better baking chocolate that hardens a little better), but I dug them. I think the caramel/coconut combo was even better than the original.

Happy Birthday, Smash!

I'm late but wanted to wish my sweet friend Ashley a happy 21st!

Aside from being stunningly gorgeous, Ashley is super sweet, lots of fun and a loyal friend. Who else would drive 30 mins at 2am to bring me Milk Duds and a shoulder to cry on? WHO I ASK?! I could go on and on about why I love this girl but I think this little gem that I discovered in my inbox on a particularly rough day sums it up pretty well.
(For the record, I love the Dallas Observer but some days you just don't want to be at work.)

Happy Birthday Week, Ashley!

Happy Mothers Day.

And all my love to Bradley who has made every day of the last seven years better, richer and more exciting than the one before. (And my appreciation to him for agreeing to stand still for a couple Mothers Days pictures.)

Brittan and Jason make a...

I am well aware that this is the worst--possibly even most terrifying--picture of all time ever but I do not care one bit. We both love the Pixies. Tee hee.
